Here isttle rundown on the Unaccompanied Minor Policy of the airline. Age Limit Jet Airways has specific guidelines when it comes to agemit of unaccompanied minors. The airline stipulates that young flyers between the ages of 6 years through 12 years or children travelling with passengers below the age of 18 years are considered as unaccompanied minors for international travel where the entire travel is commenced only on Jet Airways. Though, solo children with travel itineraries requiring connecting flights on other carriers are accepted on Jet Airways, it largely depends on the acceptance policies of all the other carriers included in the journey. Superior Services Offered Unlike the basic services offered on some airlines operating flights to India, the affable Jet Airways' staffs leave absolutely no stone unturned when it comes to taking good care of young flyers. Upon arrival at the destination, minors are released only into the custody of a pre-approved adult after he/she furnishes the photo ID proof. Restrictions Jet Airways follows certain restrictions when it comes to carrying unaccompanied minors. The airline does not allow child discounts on the unaccompanied minors' tickets. Furthermore, the airline does not accept carrying unaccompanied child in case there is an overnight stay involved. However, in the event of a flight diversion to another airport, a designated female staff member escorts the unaccompanied child in the hotel until the departure of the flight. In the event of an onward connecting flight on Jet Airways or any other airline and an overnight stay, parents / guardians are required to nominate a person to collect the child on arrival at the point of transfer and remain with the child until the child is handed over to the staff of the onward connecting flight. Failure to this might lead the airline to disallow carrying the unaccompanied minor. For an onward connecting flight with Jet Airways departing from same city, or another terminal, the airline offers the airport transfer, provided the connection time remains 4 hours or less. For onward connecting flight on another airline, departing from the same terminal or another terminal, accessible without exiting the terminal building, the airline transfers the child to the connecting carrier provided the connection time remains 4 hours or less. However, for onward connecting flight with another airline departing from another airport in the same city or another terminal, not accessible without exiting the terminal building, the airline requires parents/ guardians to nominate a person to collect the child at the transfer point and further hand over the child to the onward carrier. Service Fees The service fees levied for carriage of unaccompanied minors and young passengers on Jet Airways remains compulsory irrespective of the date when the ticket gets issued. The service fee for unaccompanied child with Jet Airways on long haul flights is GBP25.58 (INR 2000). This fee is applicable per direction i.e. Origin to Destination. Additionally, the stopover points are considered as destinations and in case of multiple stopovers, the charges re-apply from every intermediate stopover point to the next stopover point. These 'Unaccompanied Minor' rules are applicable only on Jet Airways' 9W / S2 operated flights. For interline and codeshare flights, the Operating Carriers' rules remain applicable.
